HISTORY OF OPOKU WARE SCHOOL There was no Government Secondary school anywhere in Ashanti even up to 1945. Boys and girls of this region whose parents could afford the cost of secondary schools. This meant that members of the catholic church who wished to have their children educated in accordance with catholic traditions had to send them to St. Augustine's college or Holy child college, both in cape coast. The need o a catholic secondary school was therefore greatly felt both by the clergy and laity of the Catholic Church. |

HEADMASTERS Opoku Ware School has been lucky in the calibre of Headmasters it has hand since it started in 1952. They have been men of goodwill,dedication,selflesness,honesty and integrity; men whose great concern have been the physical expansion, the provision of adequate teaching and lerning materials and equipment, high moral and academic standards of the school. The Pioneer Headmaster, an Oxford graduate, a Major of the British army and a priest of the S.M.A. congregation, Rev.
